LETTER TO CONGREGATION 13-04-2020

Dear Snowdon Family,

It’s hard to believe that we’ve been unable to gather for worship for 4 Sundays now. What a day it will be, when we can come together again! I’ve been praying for you, hoping that in the meantime you find your strength and perseverance in the Lord.

I want to encourage each of us to keep in contact with one another on a regular basis. The family of God is still a family, even though we are unable to meet. Many are making phone calls, having Zoom meetings, emailing and messaging one another, etc., and this is great. We’ve also been providing worship services online each Sunday, and I continue to create 1225 Live videos for each weekday. Let’s continue to encourage one another in the Lord!

I want to suggest that for the remainder of this pandemic season, we try a weekly all-church meeting on Zoom (with the caveat that Zoom allows up to 100 participants). Initially, let’s try Monday evenings at 7 p.m., with our first meeting being a week from today, on Monday, April 20. We can always change the time (and day) if collectively we discover a more convenient one. Here’s the format I’m suggesting for each meeting:

  • A welcome, and a time where brief verbal encouragements are offered to one another. (8-9 min).

  • Each week I will choose a psalm and read it aloud, perhaps twice through. (6-7 minutes).

  • We will ask 2-3 people to pray prayers inspired by the content of the psalm. 😊 (10 minutes).

  • Goodbye until next Monday!

These meetings will purposely be under a half hour each, so that the time commitment is not too daunting. Following Robert’s lead for the Wednesday prayer meetings, I will send out a fresh Zoom link to everyone who’s interested, every Monday evening at 6:45 p.m.

If you’d like to participate, please send me an e-mail at: brent@snowdonbaptistchurch.com

Important NoteThese new Monday night meetings are not meant to replace (or mimic!) the Wednesday night prayer meetings. As outlined above, the Monday meetings will take a different shape than the Wednesday meetings. If you are already participating in the Wednesday night meetings, please continue to do so! If you’d like to join us for both meetings, feel free!

For now, every blessing in the Lord,

Pastor Brent
